Name:Glycerin Trilaurate(TG)Content Assay Kit
Determination method: Spectrophotometric method
Specification: 50T/48S
Storage conditions: low temperature and light protection
Validity: 6 months
Note: Choose 2-3 samples with large expected differences for pre-calibration before formal determination.
Measurement significance:
TG is a fat molecule formed by long-chain fatty acids and glycerol, which is not only the main component of cell membrane, but also an important respiratory substrate.
Principle of Assay:
Extract TG with isopropanol, hydrolyse TG by lipoprotein esterase to produce glycerol and fatty acids (FFA), glycerol and adenosine triphosphate catalyzed by glycerol kinase and phosphoglycerol oxidase to produce H2O2, and catalysed by catalysing peroxidase to oxidize hydrogen peroxide to 4-aminoantipyrine coupled with phenol, to produce coloured compounds, with a characteristic absorption peak at 505 nm.
Self-contained instruments and supplies:
Visible spectrophotometer, benchtop centrifuge, adjustable pipette gun, 1 mL glass cuvette, mortar and pestle, ice and distilled water
